The bodies of an inmate, warden and finally the wardens wife and himself are found, the only surviving witness to this horrific night is the wardens son. 30 years later, an ambitious television producer, Megan Samuels, along with her crew decided to find out what really happened that night. Megan's assistant, Jessica Meadows, has discovered the whereabouts of the wardens son and leaves Megan to entice him to join their crew. As Megan leaves to encourage a much disgruntled and bitter David Collins, Jessica enlists the help of world renowned psychic and ghost hunter - Derek Rant. Derek Rant is a colourful character, his methods are unusual, but he produces results. The crew is finally assembled and a reluctant David Collins is joining at the last minute. The journey begins. The group is met at the jail by ex-warden, Julius Bud. He knows everything about Maitland jail's history and seems unwilling to to give Megan and her crew the truth. His secretiveness leads Megan's interest and she takes her group further into the darker parts of the hail, to the area they call the "Devil's Gateway". As the crew embark on their planned Ouija board experience, a darkness seems to envelop the jail. Derek knows that they have made contact with something far more evil than a ghost and as the contact between the afterlife and the living is broken, the environment changes for the group. Cell doors begin to slam, noises can be heard and there is no explanation. Jessica begins to panic as the group delve deeper into the unknown. Strange things start to happen to the group as they make their way through the cell blocks. Transmissions fail, the camera won't work and finally crew members start to disappear. The first to leave is Chris, the trusted cameraman. He heads off to the bathrooms, never to be seen alive again. With the loss of the cameraman, all-rounder Mark steps in, he notices his friend is missing, but the ever ambitious Megan will not allow another crew member to go missing. Derek Rant finally works out what is at work in the prison, he knows he has to get the crew out now in order for them to survive. As the crew has now divided, he must race to find them before it is too late. The exciting trip to the prison has turned into a race for survival. There is a powerful evil force at work that needs these people to stay within the walls. As dawn approaches, who will make it out through the gates?
