A Bogan goes abroad follows the journey of a 34 year old Western Sydney man, Paul, on his quest to see the world. Paul is a fifth generation Australian and growing up in the West of Sydney, Paul always had the desire to do something with his life and he certainly has, having put his hand to over 15 different jobs over the past decade.

The only constant and true passion in Paul’s life has been acting. He stared in the Blockbuster  “Babe - pig in the city”  and helmed many Advertising Campaigns, including Herbal Essence and Energy Queensland. You might think his acting career should have allowed him to travel the world and he certainly could have, but something always kept him in Australia, Paul loves the country, 4x4ing, fishing and camping - the Australian great outdoors.

Another main reason for Paul staying put in Australia could be that he is incredibly scared of flying. Now Paul is going to face his biggest challenge of his life, he is going to travel around Europe, using his personality to get him through the language barriers, cultural barriers and personal barriers. As Paul arrives into Athens airport, the world opens up and life outside Australia begins. Australia’s true self confessed bogan is abroad, now what is he going to do?

As Paul makes his way from country to country, sampling food, cultures and languages - his eyes are opened to a world outside the small western sydney suburb he calls home.
